Day 1
Tour the Dunkirk Lighthouse and Military Museum. The Dunkirk Lighthouse (also known as Point Gratiot) is an active lighthouse along the Seaway Trail. You’ll hear stories of the doors opening and closing, and when the staff plays the “Victrola” the ghost will turn the music off, and so much more.
Red Coach Inn for dinner and a presentation by a Ghost Buster! This evening’s dinner is in a quaint and haunted hotel and restaurant. Situated near the raging rapids, it will provide you with an even scarier scenario for tonight’s dinner and ghost busting with the Ghost Buster. He will have his equipment all set to find the ghost. There are two ghosts: a bride and groom who took their lives on their wedding day. Afraid of the dark? Maybe if we turn the lights off they will join the wedding feast we have prepared for your dinner.
After dinner, tour the night illumination of Niagara Falls.
Day 2
Meet your guide at your hotel and travel to Batavia, NY, for a day long adventure of ghost busting.
The Seymour Place was built in 1831 as the Genesee Bank and then became the Batavia Club in 1886. With spooky sights, smells and sounds, the building is home to different spirits. Learn about the Tall Man, who is sometimes surrounded by other men (ghosts) in 1860 outfits. One guest has even seen an impression on a bar stool. What will you experience on your visit? Will you hear the Tall Man clearing his throat? What would you say to him??? Will you feel the energy of the little girl that occupies the building? Only you can tell what you will experience!
Once occupied by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Appleton Hall’s ghost experiences always happen on a Thursday at 3 PM. You can be sure we will be there! Will they appear for us and let us know that they are there? Storyteller “Margo” will guide us through the haunting tale of the ghosts and their life at Appleton Hall.
Our afternoon going into the evening will take us on a ghost hunt, exploring the “basement,” wine tasting and a sumptuous dinner at Marjim Manor.
Day 3
Depart the hotel for the “Haunted Silo Tour.” You’ll join your ghostly costumed host for a “spirited” tour inside an abandoned grain silo on the Buffalo waterfront. The 60-minute tour reveals the dangerous and deadly lives of the predominantly Irish people who worked the silos along the river, trying to eke out a living. Along the way, guests will hear stories of the murder, mayhem and true crime that have shocked the area over the last 300 years! Highlights include a Ouija Board love triangle homicide, how a drunk Irishman helped invent the electric chair and why a Western New Yorker is considered to be a Jack the Ripper suspect!
Power Authority. Your self-guided tour will take you through the realm of the harnessing of electricity from the Niagara River. Learn about the water intakes that traverse across town, and the water that’s poured into a reservoir to make electricity for the following day’s use.
Enroute to the Maid of the Mist Boat Ride, you will do a driving tour of other haunted places in Niagara Falls, to include Devils Hole, Niagara University Library, and the Echo Club of Niagara Falls.
Maid of the Mist Boat Ride, located in Niagara Falls State Park, is a journey to the brink of the Falls and more than 150 years old. Your journey begins at the Observation Tower, where you will be given a souvenir poncho as you board the double decker boat tour. You’ll journey near the massive rock formations, and experience the thunder of the “Falls.”
Day 4
The Herschell Carousel Factory produced over 3,000 hand carved wooden carousels in the early 1900’s. Ride 2 carousels, listen to Wurlitzers, and become a child again!
Platter Chocolate factory tour – In 1938, Carl Platter decided to do what friends and family said he did best, make chocolate. Not just any chocolate, however, but the chocolate North Tonawanda has come to know and love – “Orange Chocolate.” You will tour the factory, and of course enjoy some tastings!!
